K-Electric (KE) has announced that 70% of its 2,100 feeders remain exempt from loadshedding following its quarterly review. The updated loadshedding schedule is now accessible on the KE website and is effective immediately. The remaining 30% of feeders experience loadshedding durations ranging from 6 to 10 hours. Customers can stay updated through the KE Live App and KE’s WhatsApp service.

Timely bill payments and reductions in electricity theft have improved power supply in many areas, with some, including Orangi Sector 14-A to 14-F and Shamsi Colony, achieving full exemption from loadshedding. Others, like Baldia Sector 4-A to 4-C and New Saeedabad, have seen loadshedding durations reduced by four hours.

A KE spokesperson emphasized the significance of community collaboration in improving power reliability: “The improvement across various communities highlights the importance of timely bill payments and joint efforts to reduce line losses. Areas such as Empress Market and Ram Swami, which gained exemption status during the last review, have successfully maintained their status.”

KE has also ramped up efforts to combat electricity theft, conducting over 21,000 citywide drives in 2024 to remove illegal connections, eliminating 220,000 kilograms of unauthorized wires. Additionally, the company continues to organize customer facilitation camps to provide support and promote compliance.

These measures underline KE’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable electricity to its customers while fostering community partnerships to sustain and expand loadshedding exemptions.
